PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain the investment in the equipment without lowering the working ratio even in the case of exchanging the whole number of molds by connecting plural kinds of molds for casting molded pig irons having different kinds on one mold conveyor. SOLUTION: The endless type mold conveyor C constituting the essential part of a pig iron casting machine, is constituted by connecting many molds 1a, 1b as the endless state in each group. At a suitable position along the circulating-shifting route of the conveyor C, a mold kind identification means 2 of e.g. a lever type limit switch, etc., is set and the timing for changing from the small sized molds 1a to the large sized molds 1f, is detected by switching on/off the striker of a limit switch. At the ejecting side of the pig iron casting machine, the molded pig iron is selectively discharged into a waggon 5 according to the kind of the molded pig iron. In this way, since the pig iron casting machine is the one for selectively casting, the mold exchanging time can be saved and the producing capacity of the pig iron casting machine can be improved and the increase of the equipment is unnecessary.
