PURPOSE: An engine starting method by inputting a password with an acceleration pedal is provided to start a vehicle by inputting the password with the acceleration pedal and a CEL when the vehicle is not started by a certain fail in spite of an ignition key is turned to an engine start position, thereby driving the vehicle to a repair man. CONSTITUTION: An engine starting method by inputting a password with an acceleration pedal includes the steps of setting an on-state but not an engine start position of an ignition switch, inputting a password by using an acceleration pedal by leaving a foot of a user from the acceleration pedal whenever numbers of his password blink on a Check Engine Light(CEL), and turning an ignition key to the engine start position for operating the engine to start after checking the password by an electronic control unit, wherein the CEL blinking interval of the acceleration pedal is 1Hz.
