PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method for forming an excellent image over long-term endurable use without being affected by toner left after transfer in an ozoneless cleanerless system. SOLUTION: This image forming method is provided with a stage to electrify an electrophotographic photoreceptor by providing a photoreceptive layer on a conductive supporting body and bringing an electrifying member into contact with the photoreceptor so that voltage may be applied, a latent image forming stage to form an electrostatic latent image on the photoreceptor by performing image exposure, a developing stage to make the electrostatic latent image visualizable with toner on a toner carrier, and a stage to transfer the toner image to transfer material, and the toner remaining on the photoreceptor after the transfer stage is recovered by the developing stage and the developing stage depends on reversal development. In such a case, a magnetic brush consisting of magnetic particles is used as the contact electrifying member. A triboelectrification polarity in the toner generated by the contact-sliding of the magnetic brush and the toner is the same as an electrification polarity put on the photoreceptor at the time of forming the image and the magnetic brush is constituted of two or more kinds of magnetic particles having the different triboelectrification polarity to the toner used at the time of forming the image. |
