PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a blur in a picture in the case of photographing an object through the use of a variable power mechanism. SOLUTION: An actuator 17 moves lens 14 to change a view distance through the operation of a variable power switch 20, an encoder 18 detects a varied position (moved position) of the moving lens 14, and a CPU 31 sets a shutter speed of a CCD 16 that is shorter than an exposure time in the case of no operation depending on of the varied position. For example, a ROM 32 stores various patterns of electronic shutter speeds that are set higher as the magnification of a picture gets higher, the electronic shutter speed can be controlled by a pattern selected among them thereby suppressing the blur in the picture.
