PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a TFT type color liquid crystal display panel using a plastic substrate consisting of only a plastic sheet and a gas barrier film without having a solvent-resistant film by constituting the panel of a panel having a color filter on a substrate and of a counter substrate of a plastic sheet having a gas barrier film on the surface. SOLUTION: The color liquid crystal display panel 100 consists of a panel 50 (CF-on-TFT panel) having color filters 11, 13 formed on a substrate 1 having thin film transistors, and a counter substrate 17 consisting of a plastic sheet 18 having a gas barrier films 19, 19' formed on the surfaces. Thereby, only a solid transparent common electrode is necessary on the counter substrate 17 side of the CF-on-TFT panel 50, and the PR process of a metal such as chromium is not required. Thus, the chemical resistance and solvent resistance of the counter substrate 17 are not necessary to be considered, and as a result, the color liquid crystal panel 100 can be made thin and lightweight.
