The back rest (6) which can swivel between a useful position and a freely swivelled position can be fixed in the latter by force locking engagement using a roller and detent plate (16) with recess (22) and spring (36). the seat length of the seat is adjustable and as the backrest is freely swivelled the seat can slide forwards. A memory device can store the set seat length. The backrest is connected to the seat through a fitment (5) with two groups of component parts.
