<p>A jack for lifting and laterally displacing heavy objects comprises a displacing means (23) and a first (24) and a second (21) rotatable supporting means, said three elements being adapted to being situated one above another. The axes (31, 32) of the supporting means extend in parallel, and the displacing means (23) is situated between the rotatable supporting means (24, 21). Preferably, a lifting means such as hydraulic lifting cylinder (22) constitutes a fourth element. One rotatable supporting means is preferably a turntable (24). Another rotatable supporting means may be incorporated into a hydraulic lifting cylinder (22), or may be a turning saddle (21). The displacing means (23) is preferably a displacement table (20) comprising a plate (6) supported by rollers (5), and preferably actuated by double-acting hydraulic cylinders. The elements may preferably be situated one on top of another in any order of succession. With this jack, a heavy object may be displaced horizontally in any direction wanted while being lifted.</p> |
