During resin transfer molding of composites, the mold (1,2) is closed by a mechanism (3) so as to leave a slight space (4). After filling the mold with liquid resin and hardener (5) pressure is applied by an airbag (6) or a hydraulic lifting bag. Optionally the mold halves (1,2) can be reciprocated during injection to obtain a pumping effect.
