<p>A method for forming an image for making a map with no distortion and with high resolution. The ground is photographed from an airplane (S10) to produce an aerial photograph (S12). The ground is also photographed from an artificial satellite (S20) to produce a satellite photograph (S22). The resolution of an aerial photograph is very high and the distortion of a satellite photograph is extremely little. The distortion of an aerial photograph is eliminated by geometrical correction using a satellite photograph (S34). Making use of the merits of both photographs, an image of high resolution with no distortion is formed. A high-accuracy map is made from the image (S42).</p> |
