<p>A green tyre (7) manufactured on a toroidal support (10) is closed in a vulcanization mould (2). Steam or another fluid under pressure is infed to a diffusion gap (18) which is formed, following an expansion of the tyre (7), between the inner surface of the latter and the outer surface (10a) of the toroidal support (10). Tyre (7) expansion is compensated for, by axially moving the beads (7b) away from the toroidal support (10), thereby eliminating too strong tensions on the cords forming the tyre carcass structure. A pre-cured liner is previously applied to the inner surface of the tyre (7), to prevent diffusion of water particles in the raw elastomer material. <IMAGE></p> |
