PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retarded crosslinked resin composition which does not generate any halogen gas when burned and shows a high flame retardance. SOLUTION: (1) A composition comprising 100 pts.wt. ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) and 220 to 300 pts.wt. mixture wherein a metal hydroxide which is surface treated with a fatty acid or fatty acid metal salt is mixed with an untreated metal oxide at a ratio of 1:9 to 6:4, and (2) 0.5 to 20 pts.wt. aminosilane coupling agent against 100 pts.wt. EVA in (1), are melt mixed and allowed to crosslink. Otherwise, (3) a resin composition comprising 100 pts.wt. EVA and 220 to 500 pts.wt. mixture wherein a metal hydroxide which is surface treated with a fatty acid or fatty acid metal salt is mixed with an untreated metal oxide at a ratio of 1:9 to 6:4, and (4) a carrier polymer containing an aminosilane coupling agent, are melt mixed and allowed to crosslink.
