PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To take countermeasures in a wider range when a shortcircuit is generated. SOLUTION: Ink jet elements corresponding to a plurality of data lines D1-D6 respectively are set to an ink cartridge 6. A shortcircuit-detecting circuit 7 is provided for detecting the data line among the plurality of data lines D1-D6 which is connected to the shortcircuited ink jet element.
