PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain bulky printing paper, as it maintains the paper qualities, for example, printability or the like, by internally filling a pulp slurry mainly comprising wood with a hydrophobic silica aerosol and making paper from the resultant filled slurry. SOLUTION: The hydrophobic silica aerogel that comprises the porous silica particles chain-connected in a neck-lace line and has voids of 10-100 nm diameters and a density of 0.01-0.50 g/cm3 is added into the poor-bulkiness pulp slurry mainly made of wood, for example, broad leave tree bleached kraft pulp in an amount of 1-30 wt.% and homogeneously dispersed to produce the objective paper for printing.
