<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cryogen composition and a cryogen each having excellent immediately cryogenic performance and cryogenicity duration time as well as having excellent cryogenicity attainment temperatures. SOLUTION: This cryogen is such one as to utilize an endothermic phenomenon when an inorganic salt and a salt hydrate are mixed together. The other objective cryogen composition comprises an inorganic salt and a salt hydrate; wherein this inorganic salt is ammonium nitrate or a solution thereof, and the salt hydrate is sodium silicate or a solution thereof. In this case, the above- mentioned inorganic salt is ammonium nitrate, and the above-mentioned salt hydrate is sodium metasilicate. This cryogen is obtained by encapsulating the above-mentioned cryogen composition wherein one of the inorganic salt and the salt hydrate is encapsulated in an inner bag, and the other in an outer bag.</p> |
