PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition having a widely prolonged scorch time and an improved processability without decreasing its rubber properties by blending a specific amount of silica with a base rubber containing a brominated copolymer rubber of isobutylene and p-methylstyrene, and a diene rubber. SOLUTION: A base rubber is obtained by blending 5-50 pts.wt. of a brominated copolymer rubber of isobutylene and p-methylstyrene, and 95-50 pts.wt. of at least one diene rubber. A composition is obtained by blending 100 pts.wt. of this base rubber, 2-10 pts.wt. of silica or a modified silica and optionally an additive such as carbon black, sulfur, an organic peroxide, a softener, an anti-aging agent, a vulcanization promoter, a filler, a plasticizer or the like. As the diene rubber, a natural rubber, a polyisoprene rubber, a polybutadiene rubber, a styrene-butadiene copolymer rubber or the like is used. A pneumatic tire is molded using this rubber composition as at least one component of the tire.
