PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold part and a die rib for a mold for a pneumatic tire constituted in such a way that sure connection is automatically formed by sliding simultaneously and without additional connecting member. SOLUTION: A mold for a pneumatic tire is provided with a plurality of mold parts 32 working together so as to form an annular mold. Each of the mold parts has a body with an inner face. The body determines at least one channel 40 in the longitudinal direction opening on the inner face. The channel has an opening and a main part and the width of the opening is smaller than at least max width of the main part. The channel has an a dovetail groove crosssection. The channels of the mold parts 32 work together to form a channel of 360 deg. continuing around the tire mold. A plurality of die ribs 38 are arranged slidably in the channel. Each die rib has a base corresponding to the crosssection of the channel.
