PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the propagation of high-speed ductile fracture by cooling natural gas having methane set to its major component to a prescribed temperature range before transportation, removing condensation components therefrom, reducing the contents of components with high boiling point, and transporting it. SOLUTION: Natural gas is cooled to reduce the contents of components with high boiling point out of the gas components. The cooling temperature is set to -50 deg.C-0 deg.C. The lowest limit of the cooling temperature is set to -50 deg.C. To improve the fracture safety of a pipeline, it is ideal to remove the components with high boiling point as much as possible, however, this is not effective from the economical viewpoint. Even if cooled lower than -50 deg.C, the effect is saturated from the viewpoint of improvement of fracture safety. This constitution priorly remove the condensation component from the gas component before transportation so that 2-phase region is contracted, and the pressure where isoentropic line from the fracture start point of the pipeline enters in the 2-phase region, namely, the pressure in the shelf part in the gas pressure reducing curve can be lowered so that the propagation of the high-speed ductile fracture can be prevented.
