METHOD FOR SEARCHING RECORDED DIGITAL DATA STREAMS

PURPOSE: A method for searching recorded digital data streams is provided to quickly search play-back locations required by users, by making visual information of the recorded digital data streams correspond to time formats of navigation information to record the visual information, to read the visual information while performing search processes, and by exactly calculating visual information for a start point of recorded units according to insufficient time resolution. CONSTITUTION: A method for searching recorded digital data streams comprises the steps of: reading search time information composed of results counting recorded units which are composed of predetermined digital transmission streams at regular intervals; accessing the recorded units including the search time by referring to the search time; reading reference information on arrival time additionally recorded in a start transmission stream of the accessed recorded units; deciding the arrival time of the start transmission stream by a time value, calculated from the reference information and information on the search time; and compensating the decided arrival time on the basis of a compared result between the reference information and the search time information.
