PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trolley traversing device assuring easy maintenance and inspection works and allowing a trolley to run for itself in a stable condition. SOLUTION: This trolley traversing device is equipped with a guide member 25 stretching in the direction of a trolley running and attached to a girder 3 or boom 4 through a rubber bushing 23, guide rollers 26 pivoted on the trolley in such a way as holding the guide member 25 pinchedly, a rack chain 27 stretching in the direction of the trolley running and attached to the guide member 25 in a position between two guide rollers 26..., and a sprocket 28 mounted on the trolley in such a way as engaging with the rack chain 27. When a displacement to the left and right is generated in the trolley, the guide member 25 is put in left-right displacement by the guide rollers 26 in follow-up after the trolley so that the rack chain engaging condition with the sprocket 28 is held properly.
