PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively absorb energy for injuries to the head of an occupant by providing an energy absorber which is installed on an inner panel and arranged in an energy absorbing space, and providing a slit in a part of a hollow sectional form of the energy absorber. SOLUTION: A front pillar is formed by an outer panel 11, inner panels 12, 13, an interior material (garnish) 14, an energy absorber 15 and the like. The energy absorber 15 is fastened to the inner panel 13 by a screw or assembled to the garnish 14 by an adhesive or the like. The energy absorber 15 is formed by aluminum extruded material, and one or plural slits are provided in the longitudinal direction of the extruded material. Thus, by the head 2 colliding with a front pillar, local deformed state is shown without transmitting deformation in the longitudinal direction even in the terminal part and in the central part of the energy absorber 15, so an energy absorption curve is also made stable.
