<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a running device for evaluating a magnetic tape capable of evaluating the reproduction performance of the magnetic tape by securing the running speed of the magnetic tape and the tension at the running time to be constant inpependently of the kind, width or length of the magnetic tape. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a pair of reels 12, 14, a pair of driving means 22, 24 capable of rotationally driving a pair of these reels 12, 14 independently of each other, a pair of detecting means for independently detecting the respective rotating speeds of the pair of reels 12, 14, a detecting means for detecting the running speed of the magnetic tape running on a specified route, a speed control means for controlling the driving means from the running speed of the magnetic tape detected by this detecting means and the rotating speed of the reel to be detected by the detecting means, and a tension control means for controlling the another driving means from the running speed of the magnetic tape detected by the detecting means and the rotating speed of the reel to be detected by the another detecting means.</p> |
