The suspension device for use between a supporting platform (4) and an upholstered unit (6) has a one-piece construction and consists of a flat base (1) from which radiate identical petal-shaped supporting brackets (2) which increase in width towards their top . They are thin, but have a large area and are hyperbolic in cross-section. The petals bend when a load is placed on them to support it.
