PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability of a semiconductor laser-pumped solid-state laser by suppressing the occurrence of noise and kinks. SOLUTION: In a semiconductor laser-pumped slid-state laser, in which a solid-state laser crystal 13 is excited with a laser beam L1 emitted from a semiconductor laser 11, the drive current of the laser 11 is swept by means of a sequence controller 45. Then a monitoring means 33 monitors the output of the solid-state laser, when the driving current is swept, and a waveform analyzing circuit 36 detects the drive current range in which noise and kinks become prescribed set values or lower. In addition, the sequence controller 45 sets the drive current of the semiconductor laser 11 at a value which falls within the detected drive current range. |
