PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a faulty case that the paper money to be accumulated by an accumulation means are inadvertently taken out by an operator by carrying the paper money drawn out of a loading means via a carrier means to one of plural accumulation means in response to the sorting processing mode that is selected by an operating means according to the discrimination result of a discrimination means. SOLUTION: The paper money are drawn out of a loading means 11, carried via a carrier part 12 and also discriminated at a discrimination part. A control part carries the paper money to one of plural accumulation parts 69-71 via the part 12 in response to the sorting processing mode selected at an operating part and according to the discrimination result of the discrimination part. Thus, the paper money are accumulated at the parts 69-71. A shutter 118 whose open/ close operations are controlled by the control part is provided for each of parts 69-71, so that the accumulated paper money can be taken out with the open shutter 118 and can never be taken out with the closed shutter 118 respectively.
