PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a mobile communication system which instantly displays a retrieving result on map data without changing a mobile terminal by calculating the latitude/longitude of the mobile terminal from electric field intensity by electric field intensity information and the latitude/longitude of a monitoring station which has transmitted electric field intensity information to the system. SOLUTION: A base station 1 allows a mobile terminal position calculating part 7 to select electric field intensity information 17 of at least three mobile stations 3 from the side of the strongest electric field intensity in the information 17 of the stations 3. The part 7 calculates the latitude/longitude of the mobile terminal 2 from information 17 transmitted from the selected station 3 and the latitude/longitude of the station 3. An external system 18 receives mobile terminal absolute position information 19 transmitted from the station 1 by a terminal, links the received information of the terminal 2 with map data and displays the position of the terminal 2 as absolute position coordinates on a display means for displaying map data.
