PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To contrive a large reduction of manufacturing cost by enabling use of an existing structure and simplifying structure. SOLUTION: A furnace block hoist changing apparatus comprises a pair of supports 1 space apart with each other, a beam 2 spanned between upper ends of the supports, and a lift device 4 for lifting and lowering a furnace block in a suspended state disposed in a space surrounded by the beam 2 an the supports 1. The beam 2 is disposed on the upper ends of the supports 1, 1 in an unfixed state, one end of each brace member 6, 7 is rotatably connected by a pin to the supports 1, 1, and another end of the brace member 6, 7 is rotatably connected by a pin to the beam 2. The brace members 6, 7 are separated and separated pieces are rotatably connected at a separation point by a pin.
