LIQUID LEVEL DETECTING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid level detecting method capable of easily and accurately detecting the levels of two types of liquids or more which separate into upper and lower layers and the location of their liquid interface. SOLUTION: Two types of mixed liquids or more different in specific gravity and viscosity from each other are housed in a water tank 1 and separated into upper and lower layers. The rotor 3 of a rotary viscometer 2 is elevated or lowered from the bottom part or upper part of the water tank 1 as rotating the rotor 3, and the location of the rotor 3 at which a resistance force received by the rotor 3 is changed is detected to detect the liquid level of the upper layer U and the height of the liquid interface between the upper layer U and the lower layer L. By this constitution, it is possible to detect the liquid level and the height location of the liquid interface of even a liquid of a dark color or a high-temperature liquid easily and accurately.
