The electric motor has a stator (2), an electrically insulating body (8) enclosed by a stator winding (14,16) and a removable temperature protection element, incorporated in a metallic sleeve (30) fixed to the insulating body. The metallic sleeve has an open end projecting from the end of the stator winding for reception of the temperature protection element after assembly of the stator winding.
