Lighting installations use a light source that does not emit radiation in the wavelengths used for photopolymerization of synthetic therapeutic materials, e.g. fillings. The light source can be a suitable gas discharge lamp or use filters that cut off radiation in the region of 200 to 700 nm, particularly 200 to 500 nm.
