PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the measurement accuracy of an earhole type thermometer. SOLUTION: The thermometer is composed of an infrared ray detector 1 for detecting the amount of infrared rays converged by a convergence means 12, a chopper means 20 for cyclically interrupting the infrared rays made incident on the infrared ray detector 1 from the convergence means 12, a temperature detector 2 for detecting the temperature of the infrared ray detector 1 and outputting signals corresponding to the temperature, a band-pass filter 21 for taking out the signals of a prescribed frequency band from the output signals of the infrared ray detector 1, a reference signal generation part 23 for outputting AC signals, a multiplier 22 for outputting the product of the output signals of the band-pass filter 21 and the output signals of the reference signal generation part 23, a low-pass filter 24 for taking out low band frequency components from the output signals of the multiplier 22, an AD converter 4 for receiving the output signals of the temperature detector 2 and the output signals of the low-pass filter 24, a temperature conversion means 5 for receiving the signals of the AD converter 4 and outputting the temperature of the eardrum and a measured value reporting means 7 for reporting a result.
