PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treatment method in which it is difficult to deposit metal and liquid to be treated can be treated with higher efficiency than that in the conventional method and to provide a device therefor. SOLUTION: Oxygen-containing gas is fed to a cathode 6 to produce hydrogen peroxide, and also inorganic acid is fed from an acid solution addition port 4 to an anode 5 to produce an oxidation product such as hypochlorous acid, etc., and then the liquid to be treated is treated with both compounds. Thus, the sterilizing power is enhanced and also the vicinity of a cathode 6 surface is kept in acidity from neutrality with acidity of the coexisting oxidation product and a deposition of metal hydrate is restrained.
