PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery holding device allowing an easy battery fixing operation. SOLUTION: This holding device includes a battery bracket 2 fixed to the fixed structure of a vehicle body or the like, and a battery clamp which non- movably clamps a battery 1 placed on the battery bracket 2. The battery clamp comprises a beam structure 9 extending across the battery 1 on the battery bracket 2, and a connecting bar 10 connecting each end of the beam structure 9 to the battery bracket 2 to press the beam structure 9 against the battery 1, the connecting bar 10 being provided in an approximately vertical upright position on the battery bracket 2 so that the beam structure 9 can be attached to the upper end of the connecting bar 10 so as to be vertically adjustable.
