A device supporting first and second tape supply rolls, the first of a first length of tape wound with its coating of pressure sensitive adhesive adjacent a core of the roll and the second of a second length of tape wound with its coating of pressure sensitive adhesive opposite a core of the roll. The two lengths of pressure sensitive adhesive coated tape are pulled from the tape supply rolls along paths comprising a common path portion having a beginning position at which portions of the coatings of adhesive along first edges of both lengths of tape are adhered together to form a composite tape structure with portions of those coatings of adhesive adjacent second edges of the lengths of tape exposed on its major surfaces.
