PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curable resin composition having ability to form a coated film with excellent curability, weather resistance, and chipping resistance. SOLUTION: A composition contains an acrylic resin (A) having a side chain introduced with a saturated hydrocarbon group and/or unsaturated hydrocarbon group containing 8 or more carbon atoms, and having a hydroxyl value of 20-250 mg KOH/g, and (B) a crosslinker. The acrylic resin (A) is chiefly obtained by (i) reacting a resin formed by copolymerizing a monomer mixture containing 5-50 wt.% of (a) an epoxy group-containing vinyl monomer, 5-50 wt.% of (b) an alcoholic hydroxyl group-containing vinyl monomer, and 0-90 wt.% of other vinyl monomers, with (d) a fatty acid containing 8 or more carbon atoms; it is obtained also by (ii) copolymerizing a monomer mixture containing 5-50 wt.% of (e) a vinyl monomer having an alkyl or alkenyl group containing 8 or more carbon atoms, 5-50 wt.% of (f) an alcoholic hydroxyl group-containing vinyl monomer, and 0-90 wt.% of (g) other vinyl monomers.
