PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently decompose smoke or smell after a heat cooking. SOLUTION: In the electric cooking apparatus, after the completion of heat cooking, an upper and lower heaters 6, 7 and a catalyst heater 20 are de- energized and a fan motor 32 being a drive source of a suction fan is energized for a predetermined period of time so that a catalyst structure is activated by the residual heat just after the completion of heat cooking, whereby smoke and smell remaining when a heat cooking is completed is decomposed into harmless matters by bringing the smoke and smell into contact with the catalyst structure.
