PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve heat resistance, flame resistance, beauty and aesthetic properties, cost and production, respectively by including melamine fibers or heat resistant chemical fibers consisting essentially hereof and thermally fusible non-halogen-base chemical fibers which form a sheet fused and mixed with these fibers and molding the mixture to a sheet form. SOLUTION: The filter is produced by including 55 to 85 wt.% melamine fibers or heat resistant chemical fibers essentially consisting thereof and 15 to 45 wt.% thermally fusible non-halogen-base chemical fibers which form the sheet fused and mixed with these fibers and molding the mixture to the sheet form. At the time of production, the respective fibers preopened by respective preopening machines 10 to 12 are opened and mixed three times by an opening and mixing machine 13 at ratios of the melamine fibers 4, the carbon fibers 3 and the thermally fusible polyester fibers 3. The respective fibers are fed by a prescribed amount each to a card machine 15 by a metering machine 14 and after the fiber pieces are prayed to a web from a spraying machine 19, the web is sent to a needling machine 16. In succession, the web is sent to a hot continuous hot pressing furnace 17 and a hot press roll 18, by which the web is thermally fused. |
