PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin expanded molded object excellent in lightweight properties, mold transfer properties and dimensional stability by forming a uniform expanded layer of high magnification. SOLUTION: A process for performing mold clamping so as to make the cavity vol. of a mold smaller than the vol. of a molten thermoplastic resin before expansion, a process for supplying the molten thermoplastic resin into the cavity of the mold, a process for opening the cavity of the mold in the thickness direction of a molded object while supplying the molten thermoplastic resin, a process for opening a part or the whole of the mold in the thickness direction of the molded object so as not to become the thickness of a final molded object to expand the unsolidified part of the molten thermoplastic resin, a process for introducing gas into the expanded object, a process for further opening a part or the whole of the opened mold to allow a cavity clearance to coincide with the thickness of the final molded object and a process for cooling the molded object while holding the cavity clearance to the thickness of the final molded object are provided. |
