摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost by forming guide grooves in inner and outer joint members, disposing a ball in a ball track reduced like a wedge in the axial direction, providing a retainer and a pre-pressure applying means, and integrally forming a connecting yoke in the outer joint member. SOLUTION: This joint includes an outer joint member 1 having a curve-like guide groove 1b formed in the axial direction in a spherical inside diameter surface 1a, an inner joint member 2 having a curve-like guide groove 2b formed in the axial direction in a spherical outside diameter surface 2a, a torque transmission ball 3 disposed in a ball track formed by cooperation of the guide grooves 1b, 2b, a retainer 4 therefor, and an elastic member 5 interposed between the outside diameter surface 2a and the inside diameter surface 4a of the retainer 4. The outer joint member 1 is preliminarily formed substantailly in a designated shape from steel material by hot rolling or near-hot rolling, the inside diameter surface 1a and the guide groove 1b are formed by cold forging, and the inside diameter surface 1a is further ground for securing accuracy. A yoke 1c to which a gear shaft is connected is integrally formed on the outer joint member 1. Thus, the manhour of manufacture and assembling and the number of parts can be decreased, and the cost can be reduced.
