PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply coating efficiently to a pattern forming tool and to improve work properties by preventing the scattering of the coating being carried. SOLUTION: In a coater for coating for applying coating to a pattern forming tool for transferring the pattern to a concrete side by pressing a sheet plate to the surface to be treated of concrete after the sheet plate with the pattern formed on the surface is fitted, and the coating is applied on the sheet plate, felt 2 and gauze 3 which are housed in a frame body 1 having an opening part 1a into which the pattern forming tool can be inserted and absorb the coating and sponge 4 which is arranged on the opening part side of the felt 2 and gauze 3 and supplies the absorbed coating to the sheet plate by the contact with the sheet plate of the pattern forming tool are provided.
