SAFETY LATCH ASSEMBLY FOR REMOTEELY ACTUATING THE SAFETY LATCH OF A HOIST HOOK

A safety latch assembly for remotely actuating the safety latch of a hoist top hook or hoist bottom hook is disclosed. The latch assembly comprises a strap attached to a spring biased safety latch associated with a hook which when the strap is pulled by the user the strap locks the latch open by means of the strap binding on a buckle. The safety latch is then unlocked from the open position and released back to the closed position by a single flick or lift of the buckle tab which unbinds the strap from the buckle and with the force of the spring automatically returns the latch to the closed position.
