PURPOSE: A solenoid valve for suspension such as a semi-active type suspension is provided to decrease a performance sensitivity and improve control characteristics in a transition area of a spool controlled with a fixed value of electric current. CONSTITUTION: A solenoid valve for suspension has a constitution that the area of a controllable fluid passage in the solenoid valve used in a semi-suspension system for a vehicle is varied by a spool(30) controlled with a fixed value of electric current. The solenoid valve is characterized in that an inner section(34) of the spool(30) mounted in the solenoid valve is formed with multiple steps(34a, 34b, 34c) to have mutually different phase differences, whereby variation of a sectional area in a transition area is diminished.
