PROCESS FOR PRODUCING TANNIN SEPARATED FROM PLANT AND DERIVATIVES THEREOF

PURPOSE: A process of separating tannin and polyphenol components from a plant, structurally analyzing and preparing tannin derivatives therefrom is provided which is industrially useful. CONSTITUTION: A process comprises (1) extracting the skin of a chestnut, a persimmon, a pine needle and hops with acetone, filtering and removing acetone to give coarse extracts, (2) removing water from the coarse extracts and separating a tannin component in a low polar organic solvent petroleum ether, ether, ethylacetate and butanol in which the tannin component is gallic acid derivatives, ellagic acid and catechin.
