VIDEO ENCODER IN THE VIDEO PHONE AND THE VIDEO CONFERENCE SYSTEM

PURPOSE: An image encoder of an image telephone and image conference system is provided to control data amount stored in a transmission buffer and a coding status of a transmission coder according to a transmission coding. CONSTITUTION: An input processor(302) converts and filters an image signal from an image input device(300) into a digital signal and converts it into a set image format. An image codec chip set(304) compression-encodes the converted image data from the input processor(302). A transmission buffer(306) stores the compressed data. A transmission coder(308) error-correction-codes the data stored in the transmission buffer(306). A transmission coding controller(310) controls data amount stored in the transmission buffer(306) and coding by transmission coder(308) which responds to an operation of the transmission coder(308).
