PURPOSE: A method for supplying initial power estimation to a wireless telephone handset, is provided to perform a fast line setup and re-setup as a correct power level for a return channel line is recognized before initialization, and to preserve battery power of a handset as the handset initializes the return channel line in a power level wherein a line is capable of setup. CONSTITUTION: A method for supplying initial power estimation to a wireless telephone handset, comprises the process as follows. A wireless telephone system has many sets, which are wireless and have batteries as power, and a base unit including a base transceiver. The respective handsets have handset transceivers to set wireless lines on channel shared with the base unit passing the base transceiver. The base transceiver transmits a forward data message, including forward power information confirming a forward power level transmitted by the base transceiver, to a given handset transceiver. A receiver locks and receives the forward data message. And a transmitter transmits a return data message, in a return power level decided according to the forward power level information, to the base transceiver.
