PURPOSE: A method for distinguishing computer chassis is provided to enable the computer system board to automatically recognize the installed personal computer chassis. CONSTITUTION: A method for distinguishing computer chassis is composed of attachment, linkage, connection, installation, and output. Assembler attaches spring operated ground clip(1) to a specified area of the computer chassis(3). The designer links conductivity pad(4) to print wiring assemblage's manufactured good, located on a point corresponding to the bottom side of the system board. Conductivity pad is connected to system board's logic circuit(6). Assembler installs system board on the computer chassis and enables the spring operation ground clip to touch system board's conductivity pad. The contact between spring operated ground clip and conductivity pad enables short circuiting of the grounding and causes log circuit to output logic 0.
