CONDENSING UNIT USING LATENT HEAT OF WATER

PURPOSE: A condensing unit of an air conditioner is provided to promote smooth heat exchange between external air and an evaporative pad by flowing the external air through a condenser. CONSTITUTION: An external air cooling device(20) is mounted in front of a condenser coil(12). The external air cooling device has an evaporative pad(14) opposed to the condenser coil. The evaporation pad includes an upper portion for injecting water and a lower portion for collecting the water in a water tub(15) from the evaporative pad. The water is injected to the upper portion of the evaporative pad by a water feed pipe(17) having a water circulating pump(16) and a water injection pipe(18). A fan(13) is started when the water is injected from the upper portion of the evaporative pad to flow along the evaporative pad. External dry air is changed into low-temperature dry air through the evaporative pad containing water. Heat exchange between the external air and the evaporative pad is smoothened through the condenser coil. Therefore, high-temperature freon gas is changed into low-temperature gas.
