PURPOSE: An automatic seat belt is provided to let an occupant conveniently wear a seat belt by making the seat belt automatically operated with response to sitting of the occupant in a seat. CONSTITUTION: A seat(10) has a pressure plate(13) installed in the center of a strut(11), a void(15) formed in a backrest(14) and a guide rail(16). A pair of moving seat bars(20,21) cover the thorax of an occupant while upwardly and downwardly moving by the guidance of the guide rail. An operating unit installed in the seat moves the moving seat bars upwardly and downwardly. Upon supplying currents to a relay, the relay forwardly rotates a motor to forwardly rotate a pinion gear. A wire belt is rotated to descend rollers(20a,21a). The moving seat bars connected with the rollers descend and stop at the thorax of the occupant. With insertion of a clip installed in a belt bar of the moving seat bar into a buckle groove of another belt bar, the moving seat bars integrally surround the thorax of the occupant.
