PURPOSE: Disclosed is an apparatus for detecting a position of a photosensitive belt in an image forming device which has a compact structure without a shoe and a prism. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for detecting a position of a photosensitive belt in an image forming device receives the position of the photosensitive by detecting a light illuminated from the laser scanning unit. The apparatus comprises a guiding member(80) being installed at an one side end of the photosensitive belt and biasing the photosensitive belt at a predetermined pressure; and a light detector(65) for detecting the position of the photosensitive belt by receiving an incidence light, the light detector(65) being inserted into an interior of the guiding member(80). A groove(82) for receiving the light detector(65) is formed at the center of the guiding member(80). A light through hole(85) is formed at a lower portion of the groove(82).
