PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pigment-sensitized optoelectric transducing element and a optoelectric-chemical cell, low in cost and high in optoelectric transducing efficiency. SOLUTION: This optoelectric transducing element uses semiconductor particulates sensitized by a methine pigment expressed by formula (I) or (II). In the formulae, the Q and Q' stand for an atomic group necessary to complete a five-membered or six-membered nitrogen-containing hereto ring, and they can be member-reduced or substituted. The Z and Z' stand for an atomic group necessary to complete a three to nine-membered ring and are composed of atoms selected from among C, O, N, S, and H. The L1 to L10 each stand for a methine group of substitution or non-substitution. The n1 and n3 each stand for an integer of 0 to 4, and the n2 and n4 stand for 0 or 1. The R and R' each stand for a substitution group, and the W and W' stand for counter ions to neutralize electric charge, if necessary. |
