PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize the moving mechanism of a moving side optical fiber of a mechanical optical switch and more particularly to miniaturize the optical switch of the case the number of cores of stationary side optical fibers is small. SOLUTION: The optical switch 20 is used to switch and connect, for example, one piece of the moving side optical fiber 4 to the desired stationary side optical fiber 3 by moving the moving side optical fiber in the arraying direction (arrow (a) direction) of a plurality of the stationary side optical fibers 3. The stationary side optical fibers 3 are housed and fixed into the plural positioning grooves 22 on a positioning groove base 21. The moving side optical fiber 4 is supported by two leaf springs parallel with each other and the front end side parts of the moving side optical fiber 4 are fixed to a connecting member 26 as the moving mechanism 23 for moving the moving side optical fiber 4. In addiction, a direct push and pull drive type actuator 27 which directly drives the parts near the front ends of the leaf springs 25 to push and pull the same forward and backward in an arraying direction by the thrust driving force by a screw 28 rotationally driven by, for example, a motor 29 is disposed. The position control of the moving side optical fiber 4 may be exactly positioned by feedback of the deflection quantity detected by strain gages 32 stuck to the leaf springs 25. |
